Join (Merge, Combine) Multiple PDF Files Into One Software
A one-task tool to combine a number of PDF documents into one.
All the functionality this software offers is made clear in its long title. This program allows you to merge a number of PDF documents to create a new document containing all the pages included in the original files.
The program does not need a complicated interface to perform its sole functionality (in fact, it could perfectly work as a plug-in or a command-line utility). Its one-screen front-end allows you to select the separate PDF files either individually or by loading all the files contained in a specific folder. Once the list of files is complete, all you can do with them before clicking on the “Join” button is to make sure they are in the order you want them to be merged. That is all the program does, but it does it effectively. If all you need to do is to put together your scattered PDF documents into a big PDF file, this is the way of doing it.
In the absence of proper documentation, follow these few caveats based on my personal experience. If the files to combine have different page formats and sizes, this variety will be preserved in the newly created file. However, all presentation options, bookmarks, etc., will be lost. If any of the input files is password-protected, you will need to unprotect it, or the merging process will be aborted.
This one-task utility is as simple as it is efficient. However, despite being just one of the many options you may find in any PDF-based text editor, the registration price resembles that of a full-featured program.
Pros
- Simple and efficient
- Straightforward functionality
Cons
- High registration price for a one-task tool
